    HI Everyone,
I got this from a list I am on and thought it might be of interest to some in the group:

“Check out Jonathan Lomas on the new podcast now available from KTExchange.org, the knowledge translation Web portal. “The Godfather Speaks” is filled with humor and insight from the former chief executive of the Canadian Health Services Research Foundation (CHSRF).

The Canadian Institutes for Health Research refers to Lomas as “The Godfather” of Canadian knowledge translation work, and he is world-renowned for his efforts to bring research evidence to bear on health management and policy-making. In 2009, the Canadian government awarded him “Officer of the Order of Canada” for his decades of work in this vital area.

This 37-minute podcast is available at your knowledge transla TExchange.org. On the podcast, Lomas talks about the founding of the CHSRF, the development of their “linkage and exchange” philosophy, the striking differences between Canadian and American knowledge translation, and his forecast for the future of American evidence-based policy.

If someone you know would be interested in this podcast, please forward them this email, and urge them to join KTExchange.org!”

    KT podcasts

    Forwarding Email:

KTExchange.org has just posted a new podcast about the advances in knowledge translation being achieved in Canada. This podcast features Dr. Nancy Edwards, Scientific Director for the Canadian Institutes of Health Research’s (CIHR) Institute of Population and Public Health; and Dr. Anita Kothari, an assistant professor at the University of Western Ontario and a long-time CIHR researcher.

They speak in detail about the unique Canadian perspective on collaboration between researchers and end-users (be they doctors, nurses, legislators, administrators, or the public), and the CIHR’s history of shaping that collaboration.

The 36-minute podcast contains invaluable insight for American researchers, academics, health communicators, and social marketers. As a registered member of KTExchange, you can go straight to your knowledge translation portal, click on “KT Tools,” then “KT Podcasts.”

Have colleagues who aren’t already members? As you know, it’s easy and free to register. Forward them this e-mail and tell them to click on knowledge translation [the link is http://www.ktexchange.org.
